How Do Ford Models Stack Up Against the Competition?

Ford and Honda are two popular brands in the US, and are both well-known or their trucks and SUVs. While Honda strives more for practicality, Ford models tend to blend performance and value together in harmony, with lots of technology and safety as well. We want to show you all the things Ford trucks and SUVs can do so we took some of the top models from Ford and compared them to their most equivalent models from Honda. Let's show you some of our findings here at Latrobe Ford. Check out how some of the most popular models at our Pennsylvania Ford dealership stack up against the Honda Ridgeline, Pilot, and CR-V.

Ford F-150 vs. Honda Ridgeline

  • Versatility: The Ford F-150 comes avaiallbe in many configurations including a regular cab, SuperCrew, and Crew Cab, giving you a variety of options for how to enjoy your pickup truck. The Honda Ridgeline is only available as a crew cab and its interior is much less spacious than crew cab F-150 models.
  • Performance/Efficiency: The standard V6 performance of the F-150 gives it a big advantage in capability, generating 290-horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, against the 280-horsepower and 262 pound-feet of the Honda Ridgeline. The F-150 also comes available with many different engine options and is now available as a hybrid. The Ridgeline has only one engine option and is unavailable as a hybrid.
  • Capability: Depending on which engine and drivetrain you chose the F-150 can tow anywhere from 5,000 to 11,300 lbs. Since the Honda Ridgeline only has one standard engine, its towing capacity range extends from 3,500 to 5,000 lbs., depending on whether you have front or all-wheel-drive. Those with heavier loads to haul might wish to consider the F-150.

Ford Explorer vs Honda Pilot

  • Fuel Economy: While you might not expect a three-row SUV to be very fuel efficient, the standard turbo performance of the Explorer helps boost its overall practicality, allowing this SUV to travel up to 20 mpg on the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The Explorer also comes available as a hybrid crossover. Meanwhile, the Plot travels up to 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway; it is not available as a hybrid.
